Biography

He was born on March 14, 1969 in Yerevan. In 1996 graduated from Yerevan State Conservatory named after Komitas. In 1997 he continued his studies in St. Petersburg (Professor Musini’s class). In 1995 he became assistant, and then conductor of the Yerevan State Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1997 he became Yerevan’s chamber musical theatre’s conductor and director. In 2001 he became main conductor and director of the Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Al. Spendiaryan.

In 2001-2002 he directed Bizet’s “Carmen” and Bellini’s “Norma” Opera, which were played in Moscow Great Theatre in 2003.

In 2000 he started working with famous singer of the Arab World Fayrouz, with whom in 2000, 2001 and 2003 he participated at festivals in Lebanon. In 2005 he presented Khachaturian’s “Gayane” ballet in the center of Istanbul. In 2006 he conducted St. Petersburg’s Philharmonic Orchestra and opened the 11th “Musical Olympus” festival.

In 2008 he participated at the Damascus festival.

Tours

In 1997 he participated at the Altenburg festival in the UK.

In 2002 and 2003 He directed Tchaikovsky’s “Oprichnik” in cooperation with G. Rojdestvensky in Turin, Italy. Later on he has conducted in many countries, such as Greece, Portugal, Italy, Lebanon, UAE, Kuwait, Geneva, USA, France, Japan etc.
